Job description

Diagnosing vehicle issues: Identifying and diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and other automotive problems through visual inspections, diagnostic tests, and customer reports. Repairing and maintaining vehicles: Performing repairs and maintenance tasks on various components of four-wheeled vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, steering systems, and electrical systems. Conducting tune-ups: Performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks and changes, tire rotations, and wheel alignments to keep vehicles running smoothly. Replacing parts: Removing and replacing worn or damaged parts, such as belts, hoses, spark plugs, brake pads, rotors, bearings, and seals, to restore vehicle performance and safety. Testing and troubleshooting: Conducting tests and diagnostic procedures to verify the effectiveness of repairs and identify any additional issues or concerns. Troubleshooting complex problems and finding effective solutions. Following safety protocols: Adhering to safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself, coworkers, and customers. Using proper tools, equipment, and safety gear when working on vehicles. Providing estimates: Assessing the extent of repairs needed and providing cost estimates to customers for parts and labor. Explaining repair options and recommendations to customers in a clear and understandable manner. Documenting work: Keeping accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, parts used, and diagnostic findings. Completing repair orders and other paperwork as required by the shop or regulatory agencies. Customer service: Interacting with customers to address inquiries, provide updates on repairs, and ensure satisfaction with services rendered. Building trust and rapport with customers through honest communication and quality workmanship. Continuing education: Staying informed about new technologies, automotive trends, and industry best practices through ongoing training and professional development. Maintaining certification and licensure as required by state or local regulations.
