Job description

Vehicle Inspection: Perform comprehensive inspections of four-wheelers to identify mechanical, electrical, or other issues. Use diagnostic equipment, visual inspections, and test drives to assess vehicle condition and determine necessary repairs. Diagnostic Testing: Use diagnostic tools, computerized systems, and technical manuals to identify and troubleshoot problems with engine performance, drivability, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, steering, and other vehicle components. Repair and Maintenance: Perform a wide range of mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks, including: Engine repair and rebuilding Transmission and drivetrain repair Brake system repair and replacement Suspension and steering system repair Electrical system diagnosis and repair Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system repair Fuel system diagnosis and repair Exhaust system repair and replacement Wheel alignment and tire balancing Parts Replacement: Replace worn or damaged parts with new or refurbished components, including: Engine components (spark plugs, belts, hoses, gaskets) Brake pads, rotors, calipers, and brake lines Suspension components (shocks, struts, control arms) Steering components (tie rods, ball joints, steering rack) Electrical components (batteries, alternators, starters) Cooling system components (radiators, water pumps, thermostats) Exhaust system components (mufflers, catalytic converters, exhaust pipes) Fluids and filters (oil, coolant, transmission fluid, brake fluid, air filters) Warranty and Recall Repairs: Perform warranty repairs and recall services as authorized by vehicle manufacturers. Follow manufacturer guidelines and procedures for warranty claim processing, parts replacement, and documentation. Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to explain repair recommendations, estimate costs, and obtain approval for repairs. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, explaining repair procedures, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Safety Compliance: Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents, injuries, or hazards in the workshop. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols when working with tools, equipment, or hazardous materials. Technical Training: Stay updated on the latest automotive technology, diagnostic techniques, and repair procedures through ongoing training and professional development. Obtain certifications from automotive manufacturers or industry organizations to demonstrate expertise and proficiency. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, repairs performed, parts used, and labor hours expended. Document repairs in service records or computerized systems for warranty claims, customer billing, and historical reference. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other mechanics, service advisors, parts department staff, and management to coordinate repair activities, share expertise, and ensure efficient workflow in the workshop. Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and care for tools, equipment, and diagnostic instruments used in automotive repair. Keep tools clean, organized, and in good working condition to ensure efficiency and safety on the job. Continual Improvement: Seek opportunities for professional development and skill enhancement in automotive repair and technology. Stay updated on industry trends, service bulletins, and manufacturer updates to improve diagnostic accuracy and repair quality.
