Job description

Staff Management: Supervise and direct the activities of floor staff, including sales associates, servers, attendants, and other frontline employees. Provide guidance, support, and feedback to ensure high-quality service delivery and performance. Scheduling: Create and manage staff schedules, shifts, and assignments to ensure adequate coverage and optimal staffing levels during peak hours or busy periods. Coordinate breaks, rotations, and task assignments to maximize productivity and efficiency. Training and Development: Train new hires and provide ongoing training to existing staff on customer service standards, product knowledge, safety procedures, and operational policies. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development to enhance skills and competencies. Customer Service: Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service to guests or patrons. Assist customers with inquiries, requests, and concerns, and handle escalated issues or complaints promptly and professionally. Ensure that all staff members adhere to service standards and maintain a customer-focused approach. Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality of service, cleanliness, and presentation of the floor area, ensuring that standards are met or exceeded. Conduct regular inspections, spot checks, and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels of merchandise, supplies, or materials on the floor. Monitor stock levels, replenish merchandise, and coordinate with inventory control personnel to ensure adequate stock availability and prevent stockouts. Sales and Revenue Generation: Monitor sales performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement strategies to drive sales and maximize revenue. Encourage upselling, cross-selling, and promotional initiatives to increase average transaction value and profitability. Safety and Security: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, security protocols, and emergency procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment for employees and customers. Conduct regular safety inspections, enforce safety policies, and address safety concerns promptly. Communication: Serve as a liaison between floor staff, management, and other departments or teams within the organization. Communicate important information, updates, and directives effectively to ensure alignment and collaboration across all levels. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve operational issues, conflicts, or challenges that arise on the floor. Address staffing shortages, equipment malfunctions, customer complaints, or other issues in a timely and effective manner to minimize disruptions and maintain smooth operations. Performance Evaluation: Conduct performance evaluations, performance appraisals, or periodic reviews of floor staff to assess performance, provide feedback, and set performance goals. Recognize achievements, address areas for improvement, and provide opportunities for growth and development. Team Leadership: Motivate and inspire floor staff to achieve performance goals, exceed customer expectations, and uphold organizational values.
