Staff Supervision: Supervising and directing the activities of floor staff, including sales associates, servers, hosts/hostesses, or other front-line employees. Floor managers ensure that staff are properly trained, motivated, and equipped to deliver excellent customer service. Customer Service: Ensuring high standards of customer service are maintained at all times. Floor managers interact with customers, address inquiries or concerns, and resolve any issues or complaints to ensure a positive experience. Floor Operations: Overseeing the day-to-day operations on the floor, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, inventory management, and cleanliness standards. Floor managers ensure that the floor is well-maintained, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Performance Monitoring: Monitoring the performance of floor staff, including sales targets, service standards, and productivity metrics. Floor managers provide feedback, coaching, and support to help staff achieve their goals and objectives. Scheduling and Shift Management: Creating employee schedules, assigning shifts, and managing staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours and special events. Floor managers may also approve time-off requests, manage break schedules, and adjust staffing as needed based on business needs. Training and Development: Providing training and development opportunities to floor staff to enhance their skills, product knowledge, and customer service abilities. Floor managers conduct training sessions, mentor new hires, and implement ongoing coaching initiatives to support staff growth and performance improvement. Sales and Revenue Management: Monitoring sales performance and implementing strategies to drive sales growth and achieve revenue targets. Floor managers may analyze sales data, identify trends, and implement promotional activities or upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities. Safety and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and other legal requirements on the floor. Floor managers implement safety protocols, conduct regular inspections, and address any safety concerns or hazards promptly. Communication and Collaboration: Communicating effectively with other departments, such as kitchen staff, back-of-house team members, or management, to coordinate operations and address any cross-functional issues or challenges. Floor managers foster a collaborative work environment and promote teamwork among staff. Problem Solving: Handling unexpected situations or emergencies on the floor, such as customer complaints, equipment malfunctions, or staff conflicts. Floor managers remain calm under pressure, make quick decisions, and implement solutions to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth operations.
