Job description

Patient Evaluation and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients presenting with ear, nose, throat, head, or neck symptoms or conditions. Perform physical examinations, review medical history, and order diagnostic tests such as audiograms, endoscopies, imaging studies (CT scans, MRI), and allergy testing to diagnose ENT disorders and assess patients' health status. Ear Disorders Management: Diagnose and treat disorders of the ear, including hearing loss, ear infections (otitis media, otitis externa), tinnitus, vertigo, ear wax impaction, and eustachian tube dysfunction. Perform ear examinations, clean ear canals, prescribe medications, and recommend hearing aids or surgical interventions as needed. Nose and Sinus Disorders Management: Evaluate and manage disorders of the nose and sinuses, including sinusitis, nasal congestion, allergic rhinitis, nasal polyps, deviated septum, and nosebleeds. Perform nasal endoscopy, prescribe nasal sprays or medications, and recommend sinus surgery or balloon sinuplasty procedures for sinus relief. Throat and Voice Disorders Management: Assess and manage disorders of the throat and voice, including sore throat, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, hoarseness, vocal cord nodules, and swallowing disorders (dysphagia). Perform laryngoscopy, voice evaluations, and vocal cord injections, and recommend speech therapy or surgical interventions for voice restoration. Head and Neck Disorders Management: Evaluate and manage disorders of the head and neck, including thyroid disorders, salivary gland disorders (sialolithiasis, sialadenitis), neck masses, lymphadenopathy, and head and neck cancers. Perform head and neck examinations, order imaging studies, and collaborate with oncologists and surgeons to develop treatment plans for head and neck tumors. Allergy and Immunotherapy: Diagnose and manage allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, and other allergic ENT conditions through allergy testing, environmental control measures, and allergen immunotherapy (allergy shots or sublingual tablets). Educate patients about allergy triggers, avoidance strategies, and allergen desensitization options to alleviate symptoms and improve quality of life. Pediatric ENT Care: Provide specialized care for pediatric patients with ear, nose, and throat disorders, including recurrent ear infections, tonsillitis, adenoid hypertrophy, congenital anomalies (cleft lip and palate), and pediatric airway disorders (stridor, laryngomalacia). Perform pediatric ENT evaluations, offer age-appropriate treatments, and collaborate with pediatric specialists for comprehensive pediatric care. Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery: Perform facial plastic and reconstructive surgery procedures for cosmetic and functional purposes, including rhinoplasty (nose reshaping), septoplasty, sinus surgery, facial trauma repair, and facial rejuvenation procedures (facelift, blepharoplasty). Address aesthetic concerns and functional impairments to improve patients' facial appearance and quality of life. Sleep Apnea Management: Evaluate and manage patients with obstructive sleep apnea and other sleep-disordered breathing conditions. Perform sleep apnea evaluations, prescribe continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy, oral appliances, or surgical interventions, and collaborate with sleep specialists to optimize sleep quality and respiratory health. Telemedicine and Remote Consultations: Provide telemedicine consultations and virtual visits for patients with ENT concerns, offering remote access to medical advice, evaluation, and treatment recommendations. Use telehealth technologies and secure platforms to facilitate patient communication, follow-up care, and patient education. Research and Education: Engage in clinical research, academic activities, and continuing medical education to advance knowledge in otolaryngology, develop innovative treatments, and improve patient care outcomes. Contribute to medical literature, present research findings at conferences, and mentor trainees to promote excellence in ENT practice. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including audiologists, speech-language pathologists, neurologists, oncologists, radiologists, and primary care physicians, to provide comprehensive care for patients with complex ENT conditions. Coordinate patient care, share expertise, and facilitate interdisciplinary communication to optimize patient outcomes and enhance patient satisfaction.
