Job description

Patient Consultations: Conducting thorough medical evaluations and consultations with patients to assess their ear, nose, throat, and related symptoms. Obtaining detailed medical histories and performing physical examinations to diagnose and manage ENT conditions. Diagnostic Testing: Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and procedures to evaluate various ENT conditions. This may include audiometric testing (hearing tests), imaging studies (such as CT scans or MRI scans), endoscopic examinations (such as nasal endoscopy or laryngoscopy), and allergy testing. Diagnosis and Treatment Planning: Diagnosing and developing individualized treatment plans for patients with a wide range of ENT disorders, including: Ear Disorders: Hearing loss, ear infections (otitis media), earwax buildup (cerumen impaction), tinnitus, vertigo (dizziness), and other ear-related conditions. Nose Disorders: Allergic rhinitis (hay fever), sinusitis, nasal polyps, deviated septum, nasal obstruction, epistaxis (nosebleeds), and other nasal conditions. Throat Disorders: Tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, vocal cord nodules/polyps, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), swallowing disorders (dysphagia), and other throat-related conditions. Head and Neck Disorders: Head and neck tumors, thyroid disorders, salivary gland disorders, facial trauma, and other head and neck conditions. Medical Management: Prescribing medications, such as antibiotics, antihistamines, decongestants, corticosteroids, and pain relievers, to treat ENT conditions and alleviate symptoms. Providing guidance on medication use, potential side effects, and follow-up care. Surgical Interventions: Performing surgical procedures to treat various ENT conditions, including: Ear Surgery: Tympanoplasty (eardrum repair), mastoidectomy, stapedectomy (middle ear surgery), cochlear implantation, and other ear surgeries. Sinus Surgery: Functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), septoplasty, turbinate reduction, and sinus balloon dilation procedures to improve sinus drainage and alleviate chronic sinusitis. Throat Surgery: Tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, vocal cord surgery, laryngeal surgery, and other throat surgeries to treat conditions affecting the upper airway and voice production. Head and Neck Surgery: Thyroidectomy, parathyroidectomy, neck dissection, facial reconstructive surgery, and tumor resection procedures to treat head and neck tumors, thyroid disorders, and other conditions. Audiologic Services: Providing audiological evaluations, hearing aid fittings, and management of hearing loss and balance disorders. Collaborating with audiologists to assess hearing function and provide appropriate interventions. Allergy Management: Evaluating and managing allergic conditions affecting the ear, nose, and throat, including allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, and allergic conjunctivitis. Offering allergy testing, immunotherapy (allergy shots), and guidance on allergen avoidance strategies. Voice and Swallowing Rehabilitation: Assessing and managing voice disorders, swallowing disorders, and other conditions affecting vocal function and swallowing ability. Providing voice therapy, swallowing therapy, and rehabilitative interventions to improve speech and swallowing function. Pediatric ENT Care: Providing specialized care for pediatric patients with ENT disorders, including ear infections, tonsillitis, adenoid hypertrophy, congenital anomalies, and speech and language disorders. Offering age-appropriate diagnostic testing, treatment options, and family-centered care. Telemedicine Services: Offering telemedicine consultations and follow-up appointments to provide remote care and support for patients with ENT conditions. Using telehealth technology to conduct virtual visits, provide medical advice, and monitor patient progress remotely. Patient Education and Counseling: Educating patients and their families about ENT conditions, treatment options, preventive measures, and lifestyle modifications. Offering guidance on self-care strategies, hygiene practices, and follow-up care to promote optimal recovery and wellness. Research and Education: Engaging in clinical research, academic activities, and continuing medical education to advance knowledge in the field of otolaryngology. Contributing to scientific literature, medical conferences, and teaching programs to educate healthcare professionals and train the next generation of ENT specialists.
