Job description

Curriculum Development: Design and develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and curriculum content aligned with educational standards and objectives. Classroom Instruction: Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that cater to the diverse learning styles and abilities of students. Teach various aspects of English language and literature, including grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Assessment and Evaluation: Assess student learning through quizzes, tests, assignments, projects, and other forms of assessment. Provide feedback to students on their progress and academic performance. Individualized Instruction: Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of individual students, including those with diverse learning needs, language proficiency levels, and cultural backgrounds. Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive and conducive learning environment by implementing effective classroom management techniques, behavior expectations, and disciplinary procedures. Technology Integration: Incorporate technology tools and resources into instruction, such as interactive whiteboards, educational software, online resources, and multimedia presentations, to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Literature Study: Introduce students to a variety of literary genres, authors, and works of literature, fostering critical thinking, analysis, and appreciation of literary texts. Writing Instruction: Teach writing skills, including essay writing, creative writing, persuasive writing, and research writing, guiding students through the writing process from brainstorming and drafting to revising and editing. Language Development: Facilitate language development by providing opportunities for students to practice and improve their English language proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Cultural Competence: Foster cultural awareness and sensitivity by exploring diverse perspectives, experiences, and literary traditions represented in English language and literature. Collaboration with Colleagues: Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to coordinate instructional activities, share resources, and support student learning across the curriculum. Parent Communication: Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to provide updates on student progress, academic performance, and classroom activities. Address parental concerns and collaborate with parents to support student success. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development activities, such as attending workshops, conferences, and training sessions, to enhance teaching skills, stay updated on educational trends, and improve instructional practices. Extracurricular Involvement: Participate in extracurricular activities, clubs, and events related to English language and literature, such as literary clubs, writing competitions, drama productions, and spoken word events. Student Support and Advocacy: Provide academic support, guidance, and mentorship to students, advocating for their academic success, personal growth, and well-being both inside and outside the classroom.
