Job description

Installation: Installing new elevator systems or modernizing existing ones according to blueprints, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines. This includes assembling elevator components, wiring controls, and testing system functionality. Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure the safe and reliable operation of elevators and escalators. This includes inspecting components, lubricating moving parts, adjusting tension on cables, and replacing worn or damaged parts. Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnosing and repairing malfunctions, breakdowns, or performance issues with elevators and escalators. Using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify problems and implementing solutions to restore functionality. Safety Inspections: Conducting safety inspections and tests on elevator systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and manufacturer specifications. Performing periodic inspections of safety features, emergency controls, and mechanical components. Emergency Response: Responding to emergency service calls for elevator entrapments, malfunctions, or accidents. Safely evacuating passengers from stalled elevators and implementing emergency procedures to restore service. Modernization Projects: Upgrading and modernizing older elevator systems to improve performance, efficiency, and safety. Installing new control systems, safety features, and energy-efficient components to enhance system reliability and functionality. Customer Interaction: Interacting with building owners, property managers, and tenants to discuss elevator maintenance schedules, service contracts, and performance issues. Providing professional and courteous customer service to address concerns and ensure satisfaction. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and service calls. Completing service reports, work orders, and documentation required for regulatory compliance and warranty claims. Training and Development: Staying updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and changes to elevator codes and standards through ongoing education and training programs. Pursuing certifications and licenses in elevator maintenance and repair as required. Team Collaboration: Collaborating with other technicians, engineers, and contractors on elevator installation projects, maintenance schedules, and repairs. Communicating effectively and working as a team to achieve project goals and meet customer expectations.
