Job description

Installation: Install new elevator systems or components according to blueprints, specifications, and building codes. Assemble elevator cars, shafts, doors, control panels, and safety mechanisms. Test system functionality and perform initial adjustments to ensure proper operation. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on elevators and escalators to ensure safe and reliable operation. Lubricate moving parts, inspect electrical components, and check safety systems to identify and address potential issues before they escalate. Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems with elevator systems using diagnostic tools and equipment. Identify the root cause of malfunctions or breakdowns and implement appropriate repairs or adjustments to restore functionality. Repairs: Repair or replace malfunctioning or damaged elevator components such as motors, cables, brakes, switches, and control systems. Follow manufacturer's specifications and industry standards to ensure repairs are completed safely and effectively. Modernization: Upgrade outdated elevator systems with modern components, technologies, and safety features to improve performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with current regulations. Retrofit elevators with new control systems, safety sensors, and communication devices. Safety Inspections: Conduct safety inspections and performance tests on elevators to ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards. Verify that safety features such as emergency brakes, door sensors, and fire service operations are functioning correctly. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and equipment inventory. Document findings, recommendations, and work performed in service reports and maintenance logs for compliance and reference purposes. Customer Service: Communicate with building owners, property managers, and tenants to schedule maintenance visits, discuss repair options, and address concerns about elevator performance or safety. Provide responsive and professional customer service to ensure client satisfaction. Training and Development: Stay updated on the latest technology, trends, and regulations in the elevator industry through ongoing training and professional development. Attend manufacturer training sessions, industry seminars, and safety courses to enhance skills and knowledge. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency service calls for elevator malfunctions, entrapments, or safety incidents. Prioritize safety and expedite repairs to minimize downtime and restore elevator service as quickly as possible. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other elevator technicians, engineers, and contractors to coordinate installation projects, share expertise, and troubleshoot complex issues. Work as part of a team to ensure successful outcomes and customer satisfaction. Compliance and Regulations: Stay informed about building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards relevant to elevator installation and maintenance.
