Job description

Electrical System Design: Designing electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, control, and communication systems, using AutoCAD software to create detailed schematics, layouts, and diagrams. Schematic Creation: Creating electrical schematics and diagrams that depict the layout and connections of electrical components, such as switches, outlets, panels, transformers, and circuit breakers, using symbols and annotations to represent electrical devices and wiring. Panel Layout Design: Designing electrical control panels and distribution boards, including layout, mounting, and wiring of components, and creating panel schedules, wiring diagrams, and bill of materials using AutoCAD. Cable Routing and Tray Design: Designing cable routing paths, cable trays, conduits, and raceways for routing electrical cables and wiring in buildings, facilities, and industrial plants, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and standards. Lighting Design: Designing lighting layouts and fixtures for interior and exterior spaces, including selection of fixtures, placement, and lighting calculations, to meet aesthetic, functional, and energy efficiency requirements. Power Distribution Design: Designing power distribution systems, including load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and equipment selection, to ensure efficient and reliable distribution of electrical power to various loads and equipment. Electrical Panel Design: Designing electrical panels, switchboards, and distribution boards, including layout, sizing, and arrangement of components, and creating panel schedules, single-line diagrams, and wiring diagrams. Electrical Symbol Libraries: Creating and managing custom electrical symbol libraries and blocks within AutoCAD to streamline the design process and ensure consistency and accuracy in electrical drawings. Coordination with Other Disciplines: Collaborating with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical design requirements with architectural and structural drawings and coordinate the placement of electrical equipment and systems. Compliance with Codes and Standards: Ensuring compliance with electrical codes, standards, regulations, and industry best practices, such as NEC (National Electrical Code), IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) standards, and local building codes, to ensure safety and reliability of electrical installations. Revision Control and Documentation: Maintaining revision control of electrical drawings and documents, tracking changes, updates, and approvals, and organizing and archiving project documentation in accordance with company standards and procedures. Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving design issues, conflicts, and discrepancies related to electrical systems and drawings, and providing technical support and assistance to project teams during design, construction, and commissioning phases.
