Job description

Vehicle Operation: Safely operating a motor vehicle, such as a car, van, truck, or bus, according to traffic laws, regulations, and company policies. Following designated routes or navigation instructions to reach destinations in a timely manner. Passenger or Cargo Transportation: Transporting passengers, goods, or materials to specified locations, such as airports, hotels, businesses, warehouses, or distribution centers. Ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers or the secure transportation of cargo. Vehicle Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance checks on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition. Checking fluid levels, tire pressure, brakes, lights, and other vehicle components before and after each trip. Reporting any mechanical issues or malfunctions for repair. Load/Unload Assistance: Assisting with the loading and unloading of passengers' luggage, goods, or materials as needed. Safely securing cargo using straps, tie-downs, or other securing devices to prevent shifting or damage during transport. Route Planning and Navigation: Planning travel routes and using GPS navigation systems or maps to determine the most efficient and safe routes to destinations. Adjusting routes in response to traffic congestion, road closures, or other travel delays. Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies to ensure safe driving practices. Following speed limits, traffic signs, and signals, and maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles. Using seat belts and ensuring passengers do the same. Customer Service: Providing courteous and professional service to passengers or customers. Greeting passengers, assisting with boarding and disembarking, and answering questions about routes, schedules, or fares. Communication: Communicating effectively with passengers, coworkers, dispatchers, or supervisors using verbal and non-verbal communication methods. Reporting schedule changes, delays, or incidents promptly and accurately. Emergency Response: Responding calmly and appropriately to emergency situations, such as accidents, medical emergencies, or vehicle breakdowns. Contacting emergency services or requesting assistance as needed and following emergency procedures. Vehicle Inspection and Reporting: Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to check for damage, defects, or safety hazards. Documenting vehicle condition, mileage, and fuel consumption in driver logs or reports. Compliance with Regulations: Ensuring compliance with transportation regulations, licensing requirements, and vehicle registration and insurance policies. Maintaining a valid driver's license, adhering to driving hour limits, and completing required training or certifications. Professionalism and Courtesy: Representing the company or organization in a professional manner at all times. Maintaining a clean and tidy appearance, observing personal hygiene, and demonstrating courtesy and respect toward passengers, coworkers, and the public.
