Vehicle Operation: You operate various types of vehicles, such as cars, vans, trucks, or buses, depending on the specific job requirements. You adhere to traffic laws, regulations, and safety standards while driving and ensure the vehicle is in good working condition. Passenger Transportation: If you're a passenger driver, your main duty is to transport passengers to their destinations safely and on time. You may work as a taxi driver, rideshare driver, chauffeur, or shuttle driver, depending on the type of service you provide. Goods Transportation: If you're a goods driver, you're responsible for transporting goods or cargo from one location to another. This may involve making deliveries to customers, transporting goods between warehouses, or driving long-haul routes for logistics companies. Route Planning: You plan and optimize driving routes to ensure efficient and timely transportation. You use navigation tools, maps, and GPS devices to find the most direct and traffic-free routes, taking into account factors such as traffic conditions, road closures, and customer locations. Vehicle Maintenance: You perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels, inspecting tires, brakes, and lights, and reporting any mechanical issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel. You ensure that the vehicle is clean, fueled, and well-maintained for each trip. Customer Service: If you're a passenger driver, you provide excellent customer service to passengers, greeting them politely, assisting with luggage, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey. You may also answer questions, provide information, and handle customer inquiries or complaints. Load Securing: If you're a goods driver, you're responsible for securing cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transportation. You use straps, tie-downs, and other securing methods to ensure that the load is stable and secure throughout the journey. Compliance: You comply with transportation regulations and safety standards set by local authorities and regulatory agencies. This includes maintaining valid driver's licenses, adhering to driving hour limits, and following transportation laws and regulations. Emergency Response: In the event of accidents, breakdowns, or emergencies, you remain calm and respond quickly to ensure the safety of passengers, cargo, and other road users. You follow established protocols for handling emergencies and seek assistance as needed. Documentation: You maintain accurate records of driving activities, including mileage logs, trip reports, and delivery documentation. You complete required paperwork, such as delivery receipts, invoices, or inspection reports, accurately and promptly.
