Job description

Patient Consultations: Conducting comprehensive patient consultations to assess skin conditions, medical history, symptoms, and lifestyle factors. Performing thorough skin examinations to identify dermatological issues and determine appropriate treatment plans. Diagnosis and Treatment: Diagnosing and treating a wide range of dermatological conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, rosacea, fungal infections, skin cancer, and autoimmune diseases. Developing individualized treatment plans based on diagnosis, severity of condition, and patient preferences. Prescribing Medications: Prescribing topical creams, ointments, oral medications, and systemic treatments to manage dermatological conditions. This may include antibiotics, antifungals, corticosteroids, retinoids, immunosuppressants, and biologic therapies. Performing Procedures: Performing dermatological procedures and surgeries to diagnose and treat skin conditions. This may include biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, laser therapy, phototherapy, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and cosmetic procedures such as Botox and fillers. Skin Cancer Screening and Treatment: Conducting skin cancer screenings and assessments to detect early signs of melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and other types of skin cancer. Performing biopsies, excisions, and Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancer treatment. Cosmetic Dermatology: Providing cosmetic dermatology services to address aesthetic concerns and improve skin appearance. This may include treatments for wrinkles, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, age spots, and hair loss using procedures such as Botox, dermal fillers, chemical peels, laser resurfacing, and microneedling. Skin Allergy Testing: Conducting patch testing and allergy testing to identify triggers for allergic skin conditions, such as contact dermatitis and atopic dermatitis. Recommending allergen avoidance strategies and prescribing medications or topical treatments to manage symptoms. Managing Chronic Skin Conditions: Managing chronic dermatological conditions that require long-term care and monitoring, such as psoriasis, eczema, vitiligo, and alopecia. Providing ongoing treatment, support, and education to help patients manage their condition and improve quality of life. Patient Education and Counseling: Educating patients about their skin condition, treatment options, preventive measures, and skincare practices. Providing guidance on sun protection, skincare products, hygiene, lifestyle modifications, and self-care strategies to promote skin health and prevent recurrence of skin issues. Collaboration with Other Specialists: Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, oncologists, plastic surgeons, and rheumatologists, to coordinate care for patients with complex dermatological conditions or comorbidities. Research and Clinical Trials: Participating in clinical research studies, academic research projects, and clinical trials to advance knowledge in the field of dermatology. Contributing to scientific publications, conferences, and professional organizations to promote evidence-based practice and innovation in dermatological care. Continuing Medical Education (CME): Engaging in ongoing professional development through continuing medical education (CME) activities, conferences, workshops, and dermatology seminars to stay updated on the latest advances, treatments, and technologies in dermatology practice.
