Patient Consultation and Examination: You meet with patients to discuss their dental concerns, medical history, and treatment goals. You perform comprehensive dental examinations, including oral health assessments, dental X-rays, and diagnostic tests, to identify dental problems and develop treatment plans. Treatment Planning: Based on your examination findings, you develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs and preferences. You explain treatment options, risks, and benefits to patients and collaborate with them to make informed decisions about their dental care. Preventive Care: You provide preventive dental care to maintain oral health and prevent dental problems. This may include dental cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, and oral hygiene instructions to promote healthy habits and prevent tooth decay and gum disease. Restorative Dentistry: You perform restorative procedures to repair damaged or decayed teeth and restore their function and appearance. This may include fillings, crowns, bridges, implants, and dentures to restore teeth affected by cavities, fractures, or tooth loss. Endodontic Treatment: You perform root canal therapy to treat infected or damaged tooth pulp and save teeth from extraction. This involves removing infected tissue, cleaning and disinfecting the root canal, and filling and sealing the tooth to prevent further infection. Periodontal Treatment: You diagnose and treat gum disease (periodontal disease) to prevent the progression of infection and preserve gum and bone tissue. This may involve scaling and root planing (deep cleaning), gum surgery, and periodontal maintenance to manage gum disease and maintain oral health. Oral Surgery: You perform minor oral surgical procedures, such as tooth extractions, dental implant placement, and biopsy procedures, as needed to address dental problems or conditions. Cosmetic Dentistry: You offer cosmetic dental treatments to improve the appearance of patients' smiles. This may include teeth whitening, veneers, bonding, and orthodontic treatments (e.g., braces, clear aligners) to enhance the aesthetics of teeth and correct bite issues. Pain Management: You provide pain relief and manage dental emergencies, such as toothaches, dental abscesses, or trauma, to alleviate discomfort and restore oral health. Patient Education: You educate patients about oral health, dental procedures, and preventive measures to empower them to take control of their dental care. You provide guidance on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary habits, and lifestyle choices to maintain healthy teeth and gums.
