Job description

Route Planning: Plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure efficient and timely deliveries while minimizing fuel costs and vehicle wear and tear. Coordination: Coordinate with dispatchers, drivers, and other team members to ensure smooth execution of delivery operations. Communicate delivery schedules, updates, and any issues that arise during the delivery process. Vehicle Management: Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of delivery vehicles, including scheduling regular servicing, repairs, and inspections to ensure they are safe and roadworthy. Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels and stock availability to fulfill delivery orders accurately and on time. Monitor stock levels, reorder supplies as needed, and track inventory movement. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback related to deliveries. Ensure that deliveries are made according to customer specifications and expectations. Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards for transportation and delivery operations. Implement safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and ensure the safety of delivery personnel and the public. Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery times, delivery accuracy, vehicle utilization, and fuel efficiency. Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed. Training and Development: Train and onboard new delivery drivers, providing them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and tools to perform their job effectively. Offer ongoing training and development opportunities to improve the performance and productivity of delivery personnel. Technology Utilization: Utilize delivery management software and technology tools to streamline delivery operations, track deliveries in real-time, and optimize routes for efficiency. Stay updated on new technologies and trends in delivery logistics. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to delivery operations, including delivery schedules, invoices, receipts, and delivery reports. Generate regular reports on delivery performance and trends for management review. Problem Solving: Address any issues or challenges that arise during the delivery process, such as traffic delays, vehicle breakdowns, or delivery errors. Implement solutions quickly to minimize disruptions and ensure timely deliveries. Continuous Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to optimize delivery processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency. Solicit feedback from customers, delivery personnel, and other stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
