Job description

Route Planning: Planning and optimizing delivery routes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods or services to customers while minimizing fuel consumption and vehicle wear and tear. Dispatching: Assigning delivery tasks to drivers or delivery personnel, providing them with necessary instructions, schedules, and route information, and monitoring their progress throughout the delivery process. Coordination: Coordinating with various departments within the organization, including sales, operations, inventory management, and customer service, to ensure smooth and efficient delivery operations. Customer Communication: Communicating with customers to confirm delivery schedules, provide updates on delivery status, address any concerns or issues, and ensure a positive delivery experience. Inventory Management: Managing inventory levels and stock availability to fulfill customer orders and maintain adequate supply levels for delivery operations. Vehicle Maintenance: Ensuring that delivery vehicles are properly maintained, serviced, and equipped with necessary supplies, such as fuel, oil, and safety equipment, to support delivery operations. Compliance: Ensuring compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies and procedures related to delivery operations, including driver licensing, vehicle registration, insurance, and roadworthiness. Performance Monitoring: Monitoring delivery performance metrics, such as on-time delivery rates, delivery accuracy, vehicle utilization, and customer satisfaction, and implementing measures to improve performance and efficiency. Problem Resolution: Resolving delivery-related issues and challenges, such as delivery delays, damaged goods, or customer complaints, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Team Management: Supervising and training delivery personnel, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure high performance and adherence to company standards and policies. Technology Utilization: Leveraging technology tools and software solutions, such as GPS tracking systems, route optimization software, and delivery management platforms, to streamline delivery operations and improve efficiency and accuracy. Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and service enhancements within the delivery operations, and implementing changes or initiatives to drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
