Delivery Coordination: Receive delivery orders, route information, and instructions from the dispatch or logistics team. Plan and organize delivery routes efficiently to optimize time and fuel efficiency. Goods Pickup: Collect goods, packages, or orders from the distribution center, warehouse, or designated pickup location. Verify the accuracy of items and ensure proper handling to prevent damage during transit. Delivery Preparation: Load goods or packages into delivery vehicles, ensuring proper placement and secure packaging. Verify delivery addresses, contact information, and special instructions provided by customers or dispatchers. Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip inspections of delivery vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition. Check fuel levels, tire pressure, lights, brakes, and other essential components. Report any maintenance or repair issues to the appropriate personnel. Safe Driving Practices: Drive delivery vehicles safely and responsibly, adhering to traffic laws, regulations, and company policies. Exercise caution and defensive driving techniques to minimize the risk of accidents or incidents on the road. Timely Delivery: Navigate delivery routes using GPS navigation systems or maps to reach destinations efficiently. Deliver goods or packages to customers within the specified timeframes, meeting delivery deadlines and service level agreements. Customer Interaction: Interact with customers professionally and courteously upon arrival. Confirm delivery details, obtain signatures or proof of delivery, and answer any questions or inquiries from customers regarding their orders. Cash Handling (if applicable): Collect cash payments from customers for COD (Cash on Delivery) orders, providing accurate change and issuing receipts as required. Follow proper cash handling procedures to ensure accountability and security. Order Tracking and Reporting: Use delivery tracking systems or mobile apps to update delivery statuses, record delivery attempts, and provide real-time updates to dispatchers and customers. Report any delivery issues, delays, or exceptions promptly. Problem Resolution: Handle delivery-related issues or challenges professionally and proactively. Communicate with dispatchers, supervisors, or customer support teams to resolve delivery discrepancies, address customer concerns, and provide solutions to delivery-related problems. Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate delivery records, including delivery logs, manifests, and proof of delivery documents. Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner. Vehicle Security and Maintenance: Secure delivery vehicles and cargo during stops and deliveries to prevent theft or loss. Park vehicles in safe and designated locations when not in use. Report any security incidents or vehicle maintenance issues to the appropriate authorities.
