Job description

Hardware Installation and Maintenance: Installing and configuring computer hardware components such as CPUs, RAM, hard drives, and graphics cards. Testing and troubleshooting hardware issues, including diagnosing faulty components and replacing or repairing them as needed. Software Installation and Support: Installing and configuring operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux) and software applications. Providing technical support to end-users for software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Network Setup and Support: Setting up and maintaining computer networks, including routers, switches, and wireless access points. Configuring network settings, IP addresses, and ensuring network connectivity for computers and peripherals. System Upgrades and Migration: Performing system upgrades, including hardware upgrades (e.g., RAM or hard drive replacement) and software updates. Assisting with data migration from old to new systems, ensuring data integrity and security. Troubleshooting and Repair: Responding to service calls and helpdesk tickets to resolve technical issues reported by users. Diagnosing and repairing hardware and software problems, performing root cause analysis, and implementing solutions. Security and Virus Protection: Implementing security measures to protect computer systems and networks from malware, viruses, and unauthorized access. Installing and updating antivirus software, firewalls, and security patches to mitigate security threats. Data Backup and Recovery: Setting up and maintaining data backup solutions to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery. Assisting users with data recovery processes in case of hardware failures or data loss incidents. User Training and Support: Providing training and technical assistance to users on computer hardware, software applications, and basic troubleshooting techniques. Creating user guides and documentation to facilitate self-help and knowledge sharing among users. Inventory Management: Managing inventory of computer hardware, software licenses, and peripheral devices. Tracking equipment usage, repairs, and replacements to ensure availability and cost-efficiency. Customer Service and Communication: Interacting with customers or end-users professionally and courteously to understand their technical issues and provide timely resolutions. Communicating technical information effectively, both verbally and in writing, to non-technical users. Adherence to Policies and Standards: Adhering to organizational policies, procedures, and IT standards related to hardware and software usage, security protocols, and data privacy. Following industry best practices and keeping abreast of technological advancements to enhance service delivery and support.
