Job description

Hardware Installation and Maintenance: Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computer hardware components, including CPUs, motherboards, memory, storage devices, graphics cards, and peripherals such as printers and scanners. Software Installation and Configuration: Installing, upgrading, and configuring operating systems, device drivers, software applications, and utilities, ensuring compatibility, functionality, and security of software installations. Hardware and Software Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, errors, and malfunctions reported by users or detected through system monitoring tools, employing diagnostic techniques and tools to identify root causes and implement solutions. System Upgrades and Repairs: Performing system upgrades, hardware replacements, and repairs to address performance issues, hardware failures, and compatibility issues, following manufacturer guidelines, service manuals, and safety protocols. Virus and Malware Protection: Installing, configuring, and maintaining antivirus software, firewalls, and security patches to protect computer systems from viruses, malware, and security threats, and conducting regular security audits and scans to detect and mitigate vulnerabilities. Data Backup and Recovery: Implementing data backup strategies, schedules, and procedures to safeguard critical data and ensure data integrity, and performing data recovery and restoration procedures in case of data loss or system failures. Network Support: Assisting with network setup, configuration, and troubleshooting tasks, including connecting computers to local area networks (LANs), wireless networks, and the internet, and diagnosing network connectivity issues and performance problems. Customer Service and Support: Providing technical support and assistance to users, clients, and colleagues, responding to help desk tickets, phone calls, and emails in a timely and professional manner, and escalating complex issues to senior technicians or system administrators as needed. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records, logs, and documentation of hardware and software inventory, maintenance activities, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions, and preparing reports and summaries for management and technical teams. Technical Skills: Demonstrating proficiency in computer hardware, software, and networking technologies, including knowledge of PC components, operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux), networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP), and diagnostic tools. Problem-Solving Abilities: Applying critical thinking, analytical skills, and troubleshooting methodologies to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently, creatively, and effectively, and adapting to new challenges and technologies as they arise. Interpersonal Skills: Communicating effectively with users of varying technical backgrounds, listening attentively to understand their needs and concerns, and providing clear and concise instructions, explanations, and solutions in non-technical language.
