Job description

Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Analyze and diagnose hardware and software issues reported by users or identified through diagnostic tools. Use problem-solving techniques to isolate problems and determine the root cause of computer malfunctions. Hardware Repair and Replacement: Disassemble computers to access internal components such as motherboards, processors, memory modules, hard drives, and expansion cards. Repair or replace faulty hardware components, including damaged parts such as power supplies, fans, cooling systems, and peripherals like keyboards and mice. Software Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and update operating systems, device drivers, and application software on computers. Ensure that software installations are performed correctly and that all necessary updates and patches are applied to address security vulnerabilities and improve performance. Virus and Malware Removal: Scan computers for viruses, malware, and other malicious software using antivirus and antimalware tools. Remove infected files and applications, and implement security measures to prevent future infections. Data Backup and Recovery: Assist users with backing up important data stored on computers to prevent data loss in the event of hardware failure or software corruption. Perform data recovery procedures to retrieve lost or deleted files from damaged or inaccessible storage devices. Hardware Upgrades: Recommend and perform hardware upgrades to improve computer performance and extend its useful life. Upgrade memory, storage drives, graphics cards, and other components to enhance processing speed, storage capacity, and multitasking capabilities. Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep computers in optimal condition. Clean computer interiors, remove dust and debris from cooling fans and heat sinks, and apply thermal paste to improve heat dissipation and prevent overheating. Network Setup and Configuration: Configure computer systems to connect to local area networks (LANs), wireless networks (Wi-Fi), and the internet. Set up network connections, IP addresses, and network protocols to enable communication between computers and network devices. Peripheral Setup and Configuration: Install and configure peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, monitors, and external storage devices. Ensure that peripherals are properly connected, recognized by the computer, and functioning correctly. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of computer repairs, including the nature of the problem, diagnostic findings, repair actions taken, and parts used. Generate repair reports and service documentation for reference and accountability purposes. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to computer users, addressing their concerns promptly and professionally. Communicate technical information in a clear and understandable manner, and offer guidance on proper computer usage and maintenance practices. Continuing Education: Stay updated on the latest computer technologies, hardware, and software through training, certification programs, and self-study. Keep abreast of industry developments and best practices to maintain expertise in computer repair and maintenance.
