Job description

System Operation: Operating and monitoring computer systems, servers, and peripheral equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operation. This includes starting up and shutting down systems, monitoring system performance, and responding to system alerts and notifications. Batch Processing: Managing batch processing tasks, including scheduling, executing, and monitoring batch jobs and automated processes. Computer Operators ensure that batch jobs are completed accurately and on time according to predefined schedules. Job Scheduling: Scheduling and prioritizing computer jobs, tasks, and processes based on system requirements, resource availability, and user priorities. Computer Operators coordinate job schedules to optimize system performance and efficiency. Data Backup and Recovery: Performing data backup and recovery operations to safeguard critical data and ensure data integrity. Computer Operators regularly backup data, verify backup integrity, and execute recovery procedures in the event of data loss or system failure. Error Handling and Troubleshooting: Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, and operational errors and issues. Computer Operators troubleshoot system malfunctions, perform corrective actions, and escalate complex problems to appropriate support teams when necessary. Peripheral Device Management: Managing peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, and storage devices connected to computer systems. Computer Operators configure, maintain, and troubleshoot peripheral devices to ensure proper functionality and compatibility with computer systems. System Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance tasks, updates, and patches on computer systems and software to keep them up-to-date and secure. Computer Operators apply system updates, patches, and security fixes according to established schedules and procedures. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of system operations, incidents, and maintenance activities. Computer Operators document job schedules, system configurations, error logs, and incident reports for tracking, analysis, and audit purposes.
