Job description

Surface Cleaning: Clean and disinfect various surfaces throughout the hospital, including patient rooms, exam rooms, waiting areas, hallways, and common areas. Use appropriate cleaning agents and disinfectants to remove dirt, debris, and pathogens from surfaces. Patient Room Cleaning: Clean and disinfect patient rooms between admissions and discharges to prevent the spread of infections. Strip beds, change linens, and sanitize high-touch surfaces such as bed rails, bedside tables, and call buttons. Bathroom Cleaning: Clean and sanitize hospital bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, countertops, and fixtures. Restock supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels as needed. Ensure that bathrooms are clean, stocked, and accessible for patients, visitors, and staff. Floor Care: Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the hospital to remove dirt, dust, and debris. Use floor cleaning equipment and solutions to maintain cleanliness and safety in patient care areas, corridors, and public spaces. Trash and Waste Removal: Collect and dispose of trash, recyclables, and biomedical waste according to hospital policies and procedures. Use appropriate containers and handling techniques to minimize the risk of contamination and exposure to hazardous materials. Specialized Cleaning: Perform specialized cleaning tasks as needed, such as terminal cleaning of isolation rooms, operating rooms, and other high-risk areas. Follow strict protocols and guidelines for disinfection and sterilization to ensure patient safety and infection control. Equipment Cleaning: Clean and sanitize hospital equipment, including medical devices, patient care equipment, and transport devices. Follow manufacturer instructions and infection control protocols to ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment. Environmental Services Support: Assist environmental services staff with tasks such as moving furniture, restocking supplies, and responding to cleaning emergencies. Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a clean and orderly environment throughout the hospital. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents, injuries, and exposure to hazardous materials. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and follow infection control practices to minimize the spread of infections. Continuous Improvement: Participate in training programs and quality improvement initiatives to enhance cleaning practices, infection control procedures, and patient safety measures. Stay updated on best practices, regulations, and standards related to hospital cleaning and environmental services.
