Job description

Surface Cleaning: Clean and disinfect surfaces, countertops, tables, chairs, and other furniture in waiting areas, treatment rooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and disinfectants. Wipe down surfaces regularly to remove dust, dirt, and debris, and ensure that they are free from contaminants and pathogens. Floor Care: Sweep, mop, vacuum, and/or steam-clean floors in treatment rooms, hallways, waiting areas, and restrooms to maintain cleanliness and hygiene. Pay special attention to high-traffic areas and spills, and promptly address any spills or stains to prevent slips, trips, and falls. Restroom Cleaning: Clean and sanitize restrooms thoroughly, including toilets, sinks, countertops, mirrors, and fixtures, using disinfectants and cleaning agents. Replenish restroom supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels, and hand sanitizer as needed to ensure availability for patients and staff. Waste Management: Collect, empty, and dispose of trash, recycling, and medical waste in accordance with clinic policies and regulations. Segregate and handle different types of waste (e.g., biohazardous waste, recyclables) appropriately, following safety protocols and guidelines. Patient Room Cleaning: Clean and sanitize patient treatment rooms, therapy rooms, and examination rooms between patient visits, ensuring that surfaces, equipment, and supplies are disinfected and ready for use. Change linens, towels, and other bedding as needed, and launder them according to clinic protocols. Equipment Cleaning: Clean and disinfect medical equipment, therapy tools, and treatment instruments after each use, following manufacturer instructions and infection control guidelines. Ensure that equipment surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and sterilized to prevent cross-contamination and transmission of infections. Common Area Maintenance: Clean and maintain common areas such as waiting rooms, reception areas, hallways, and lounges to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for patients and visitors. Dust furniture, fixtures, and decorative items regularly to remove allergens, pollutants, and airborne particles. Specialized Cleaning: Perform specialized cleaning tasks as needed, such as carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, window washing, and deep cleaning of treatment rooms or therapy areas. Use appropriate cleaning equipment, tools, and techniques to achieve optimal results without damaging surfaces or materials. Infection Control and Prevention: Adhere to infection control protocols, standard precautions, and OSHA regulations to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and ensure patient safety. Follow proper hand hygiene practices, use personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, and maintain a clean and sterile environment in clinical areas. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, spills, accidents, or biohazard exposures promptly and effectively, following established protocols and procedures. Work collaboratively with clinic staff, security personnel, and emergency responders to mitigate risks and ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in the facility.
