Job description

Construction Oversight: You supervise and coordinate construction activities on civil engineering projects, including site preparation, earthwork, foundation construction, structural erection, and finishing work. You ensure that work is executed according to project plans, specifications, and quality standards. Team Management: You manage and lead construction crews, subcontractors, and laborers on-site to ensure that work is performed efficiently and effectively. You assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, and provide direction to ensure that project goals are achieved in a timely manner. Safety Compliance: You enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel on-site. This may include conducting safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions, as well as addressing safety concerns or hazards promptly. Quality Control: You implement quality control measures to ensure that construction work meets quality standards and specifications. This may involve conducting inspections, reviewing workmanship, and addressing quality issues or deficiencies in a timely manner. Schedule Management: You manage project schedules and timelines to ensure that construction activities are completed on time and within budget. This may involve coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to optimize workflow and minimize delays. Material Management: You oversee the procurement, delivery, and storage of construction materials and equipment on-site. You ensure that materials are ordered in a timely manner, properly stored, and used efficiently to minimize waste and prevent shortages. Communication: You maintain open and effective communication with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that project objectives are understood and met. You provide regular updates, progress reports, and feedback to keep stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the project. Problem-Solving: You identify and address construction issues, challenges, and conflicts as they arise on-site. You propose solutions, make decisions, and take appropriate action to resolve problems and keep the project moving forward. Documentation and Reporting: You maintain accurate documentation and records of construction activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and incident reports. You may also prepare reports, documentation, and paperwork for regulatory compliance and client review. Quality Assurance: You ensure that construction work meets quality assurance standards and regulatory requirements. This may involve conducting inspections, testing materials, and verifying compliance with building codes, permits, and specifications.
