Job description

Structural Design: Designing structural elements and systems to support loads and resist forces, including gravity, wind, seismic, and environmental loads. Civil Structural Engineers create structural designs that meet project requirements, codes, and standards while optimizing performance and efficiency. Structural Analysis: Performing structural analysis using engineering principles and software tools to assess the behavior, performance, and safety of structures under various loading conditions. Civil Structural Engineers analyze stresses, deflections, and deformations to ensure that structures meet safety and performance criteria. Calculations and Modeling: Conducting structural calculations, simulations, and modeling to determine the structural capacity, stability, and behavior of components and systems. Civil Structural Engineers use mathematical formulas, engineering principles, and computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop and evaluate structural designs. Code Compliance: Ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and standards related to structural design and construction. Civil Structural Engineers stay updated on code requirements and ensure that structural designs meet applicable codes and regulatory requirements to obtain necessary permits and approvals. Material Selection: Selecting appropriate materials for structural components based on project requirements, performance criteria, and environmental conditions. Civil Structural Engineers consider factors such as strength, durability, cost, and sustainability when selecting materials for structural designs. Construction Support: Providing support during construction by reviewing shop drawings, responding to requests for information (RFIs), and resolving structural issues or discrepancies that arise on-site. Civil Structural Engineers assist contractors and construction teams in implementing structural designs accurately and efficiently. Quality Assurance and Control: Implementing quality assurance and control measures to ensure that structural designs and construction activities meet quality standards and specifications. Civil Structural Engineers conduct inspections, reviews, and tests to verify compliance with design requirements and specifications. Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and hazards associated with structural design and construction activities and developing risk mitigation strategies.
