Job description

Structural Design: Using engineering principles and software tools to design structural systems that withstand loads and forces while ensuring safety, stability, and durability. Analysis and Modeling: Performing structural analysis and simulations to assess the behavior of structural components under various loading conditions and environmental factors. Material Selection: Selecting appropriate construction materials, such as steel, concrete, timber, or composite materials, based on project requirements, performance criteria, and cost considerations. Code Compliance: Ensuring that structural designs comply with building codes, standards, regulations, and industry best practices relevant to the project location and type. Foundation Design: Designing foundations and support systems to transfer structural loads to the ground safely and efficiently, considering soil conditions, site constraints, and project requirements. Structural Detailing: Developing detailed drawings, plans, and specifications for structural components, including beams, columns, slabs, and connections, to guide construction. Seismic and Wind Analysis: Performing seismic and wind analysis to assess the structural response to seismic events, wind loads, and other dynamic forces, and implementing measures to enhance structural resilience. Construction Supervision: Providing technical support and supervision during construction to ensure that structural elements are installed correctly and according to design specifications. Quality Assurance and Control: Implementing quality assurance and control measures to ensure that construction materials, methods, and workmanship meet structural design requirements and industry standards. Structural Inspection and Assessment: Conducting structural inspections, condition assessments, and forensic investigations to evaluate the integrity, safety, and performance of existing structures. Collaboration with Architects and Engineers: Collaborating with architects, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural design with architectural and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems and ensure interdisciplinary coordination. Continuous Learning and Professional Development: Staying updated on advancements in structural engineering technology, materials, and design practices through continuing education, professional development courses, and participation in industry organizations.
