Job description

Drafting Civil Engineering Designs: Using CAD software (such as AutoCAD) to produce accurate and detailed drawings, layouts, and plans based on specifications provided by civil engineers or architects. Site Plans and Survey Drawings: Creating site plans, survey drawings, and topographical maps that accurately depict land features, boundaries, elevations, and existing infrastructure to guide the design and construction process. Road and Highway Design: Drafting roadways, highways, intersections, and transportation systems, including alignments, profiles, cross-sections, and grading plans. Incorporating design elements such as curves, grades, and drainage systems. Utility Infrastructure Layouts: Developing drawings and plans for utility infrastructure, including water supply systems, sewer lines, stormwater drainage, and utilities. Ensuring proper placement, sizing, and alignment in accordance with project requirements and regulations. Structural Detailing: Producing detailed drawings and plans for structural components such as foundations, retaining walls, culverts, and bridges. Incorporating dimensions, materials, and construction details to ensure structural integrity and compliance with building codes. Construction Documentation: Generating construction drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, and details, to communicate design intent to contractors, builders, and construction teams. Providing accurate dimensions, annotations, and specifications to facilitate construction. Quantity Take-offs and Cost Estimation: Assisting with quantity take-offs and cost estimation by providing accurate drawings, measurements, and material specifications. Supporting estimators and project managers in developing budgets and project proposals. Collaboration with Engineers and Architects: Collaborating with civil engineers, architects, surveyors, and other professionals to develop design concepts, resolve technical issues, and ensure design compatibility across disciplines. Quality Control and Assurance: Reviewing and verifying drawings and plans for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards and regulations. Conducting quality checks and revisions to ensure deliverables meet project requirements and client expectations. Documentation Management: Organizing and maintaining project files, drawings, and documentation in accordance with established procedures and standards. Ensuring proper version control and documentation control to facilitate project management and communication. Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that design plans and drawings comply with relevant regulations, codes, standards, and permits. Obtaining approvals and permits from regulatory authorities as necessary for project implementation. Technical Support: Providing technical support and assistance to project teams, clients, and contractors during the design, construction, and post-construction phases of projects. Addressing inquiries, clarifications, and change requests as needed. Software Proficiency: Staying updated on the latest features and functionalities of CAD software and other relevant tools. Continuously improving skills and knowledge through training and professional development opportunities. Communication Skills: Effectively communicating technical information and design concepts to stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise. Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to achieve project goals and objectives.
