Job description

Drafting Plans: Using computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD or Revit to create 2D and 3D drawings, layouts, and schematics for civil engineering projects. This includes architectural plans, structural drawings, site plans, and infrastructure designs. Translating Designs: Interpreting design concepts, sketches, and specifications provided by architects, engineers, or project managers and transforming them into accurate and detailed technical drawings. Creating Layouts: Designing layout plans for buildings, infrastructure, roads, bridges, utilities, and other civil engineering projects. This involves determining the arrangement, dimensions, and orientation of components within a design. Detailing Structures: Developing detailed drawings and sections for structural components such as foundations, beams, columns, walls, and slabs. Ensuring that drawings adhere to engineering standards, codes, and project requirements. Designing Utilities: Drafting plans and profiles for utility systems, including water supply, sewerage, drainage, and electrical systems. Illustrating the layout, connections, and specifications of utility networks. Annotating Drawings: Adding dimensions, annotations, labels, and symbols to drawings to provide clarity and information about measurements, materials, specifications, and construction details. Producing Topographic Maps: Generating topographic maps, contour drawings, and terrain models using survey data, aerial imagery, and GIS (Geographic Information System) data. Depicting the terrain, features, and elevations of a site. Reviewing Designs: Reviewing technical drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements, engineering standards, and regulatory codes. Identifying and resolving design issues or discrepancies. Collaborating with Engineers: Working closely with civil engineers, architects, surveyors, and other professionals to develop design concepts, refine drawings, and ensure alignment between design intent and technical execution. Managing Drawings: Organizing and managing drawing files, versions, and revisions using CAD software or document management systems. Maintaining accurate records of changes, updates, and approvals throughout the design process. Staying Updated: Keeping abreast of industry trends, advancements in CAD technology, and changes in engineering standards and regulations. Participating in training programs or professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
