Job description

Drafting Civil Engineering Drawings: Using computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD to create detailed drawings, plans, and layouts for civil engineering projects. This includes creating 2D and 3D drawings, site plans, cross-sections, elevations, and detail drawings. Interpreting Design Specifications: Reviewing design specifications, sketches, and engineering drawings provided by civil engineers and architects. Understanding project requirements, objectives, and standards to accurately translate them into technical drawings. Technical Drawing Standards: Adhering to established drafting standards, practices, and symbols specific to civil engineering disciplines. Ensuring that drawings comply with industry standards, codes, regulations, and project requirements. Creating Site Plans: Generating site plans that depict property boundaries, topography, existing structures, utilities, and other site features. Incorporating survey data, site analysis, and design requirements to create accurate and informative site plans. Detailing Structures and Components: Creating detailed drawings and plans for structural elements, including foundations, beams, columns, walls, and slabs. Providing dimensions, annotations, and specifications to accurately represent construction details and materials. Grading and Drainage Plans: Developing grading and drainage plans that illustrate the contour of the land, earthwork operations, and drainage systems. Designing slopes, cut and fill areas, swales, culverts, and stormwater management features. Utility and Infrastructure Plans: Drafting plans for utilities and infrastructure systems such as water supply, sewerage, drainage, and electrical networks. Coordinating with utility providers and engineers to integrate utility layouts into overall site plans. Reviewing and Revising Drawings: Reviewing drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design standards and specifications. Incorporating feedback, revisions, and changes into drawings as directed by project stakeholders. Collaborating with Engineers and Architects: Collaborating with civil engineers, architects, surveyors, and other professionals to coordinate design efforts and resolve design conflicts. Communicating effectively to ensure alignment and integration of design elements. Document Control and Management: Maintaining organized files and records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation. Ensuring that drawings are properly archived and accessible for reference, review, and future use.
