Job description

Drafting and Designing: Using AutoCAD software to create detailed technical drawings, plans, and designs for civil engineering projects such as buildings, roads, bridges, dams, and infrastructure systems. 2D and 3D Modeling: Creating both 2D and 3D models of structures, terrain, and components to visualize project layouts, dimensions, and spatial relationships accurately. Blueprint Interpretation: Reviewing and interpreting architectural and engineering blueprints, sketches, specifications, and other project documents to understand design requirements and constraints. Layout and Drafting: Generating layout drawings, site plans, elevation drawings, section views, and construction details to communicate design intent and technical specifications to engineers, architects, contractors, and stakeholders. Dimensioning and Annotation: Adding dimensions, labels, annotations, and symbols to drawings to provide clarity and context and ensure compliance with design standards and regulations. Coordination and Collaboration: Collaborating with engineers, architects, surveyors, and other project team members to coordinate design efforts, resolve conflicts, and incorporate design changes or modifications as needed. Quantity Estimation: Assisting with quantity takeoffs and material estimations by extracting and calculating quantities from drawings and models to support cost estimates, procurement, and project planning. Quality Assurance: Reviewing drawings and models for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory codes. Software Proficiency: Demonstrating proficiency in using AutoCAD software and other related CAD tools, plugins, and add-ons to enhance productivity, efficiency, and design capabilities. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintaining organized files and records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation to track project progress, changes, and approvals throughout the design and construction phases. Continuing Education: Staying updated on the latest developments, techniques, and best practices in AutoCAD software, civil engineering design, and related technologies through training, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
