Job description

Drafting and Designing: Use AutoCAD software to create 2D and 3D drawings, plans, and layouts for civil engineering projects such as roads, bridges, buildings, infrastructure, and utilities. Follow industry standards, specifications, and design guidelines to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements. Site Surveys and Measurements: Work with survey data, topographic maps, and site plans to accurately represent existing conditions and terrain features in drawings. Conduct field surveys and measurements as needed to gather data for design and drafting purposes. Creating Plans and Sections: Develop detailed plans, elevations, sections, and cross-sections to illustrate the layout, dimensions, and specifications of civil engineering projects. Include annotations, dimensions, and labels to convey information clearly and accurately. Design Modifications and Revisions: Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project stakeholders to review and revise drawings based on feedback, design changes, or project requirements. Make modifications to drawings as needed to incorporate revisions and ensure alignment with project goals. Quantity Takeoffs and Cost Estimation: Assist in preparing quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment based on drawings and specifications. Provide input on construction methods, materials selection, and project scheduling to support cost estimation efforts. Coordination with Other Disciplines: Coordinate with other design disciplines such as structural engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering to integrate their designs with civil engineering plans and ensure compatibility and coordination of project elements. Document Management and Organization: Maintain organized file systems and document control procedures to manage drawings, revisions, and project documentation effectively. Ensure that drawings are properly labeled, archived, and accessible to project team members as needed. Quality Assurance and Standards Compliance: Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. Conduct quality assurance checks to identify errors, inconsistencies, or discrepancies and make corrections as needed to ensure high-quality deliverables. Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to project teams and colleagues regarding AutoCAD software, drafting techniques, and drawing standards. Troubleshoot technical issues, resolve software errors, and provide guidance on best practices for efficient drafting and design.
