Job description

Drafting and Designing: Using AutoCAD software to create accurate and detailed drawings, plans, and schematics for civil engineering projects such as roads, bridges, buildings, and infrastructure. Site Analysis: Analyzing survey reports, topographical maps, and other data to understand site conditions and constraints. Incorporating this information into design plans to ensure feasibility and compliance with regulations. Road and Highway Design: Designing roadways, highways, intersections, and transportation systems using AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar software. Incorporating elements such as curves, grades, alignments, and cross-sections to meet project requirements. Grading and Earthwork: Creating grading plans and earthwork designs to prepare sites for construction. Optimizing grading to achieve proper drainage, erosion control, and soil stability while maximizing efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Utility Design: Incorporating utility infrastructure such as water supply, sewer systems, stormwater drainage, and utilities into site plans. Ensuring proper alignment, sizing, and placement to meet regulatory standards and project specifications. Structural Detailing: Creating detailed drawings and plans for structural elements such as foundations, retaining walls, culverts, and other infrastructure components. Ensuring structural integrity, safety, and compliance with building codes. Construction Documentation: Generating construction documents, including plans, sections, elevations, and details, to communicate design intent to contractors, engineers, and construction teams. Providing accurate dimensions, annotations, and specifications to facilitate construction. Collaboration: Collaborating with civil engineers, architects, surveyors, and other stakeholders to develop design concepts, resolve technical issues, and coordinate project requirements. Incorporating feedback and revisions as needed to achieve project goals. Quality Assurance: Reviewing and verifying drawings and plans for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards and regulations. Conducting quality checks and revisions to ensure deliverables meet client expectations. Technical Support: Providing technical support and assistance to project teams, clients, and contractors during the design, construction, and post-construction phases of projects. Addressing inquiries, clarifications, and change requests as needed. Software Proficiency: Staying updated on the latest features and functionalities of AutoCAD and other relevant software tools. Continuously improving skills and knowledge through training and professional development opportunities. Documentation Management: Organizing and maintaining project files, drawings, and documentation in accordance with established procedures and standards. Ensuring proper version control and documentation control to facilitate project management and communication. Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that design plans and drawings comply with relevant regulations, codes, standards, and permits. Obtaining approvals and permits from regulatory authorities as necessary for project implementation. Cost Estimation: Assisting with cost estimation and quantity take-offs by providing accurate drawings, dimensions, and specifications. Collaborating with estimators and project managers to develop cost-effective solutions and budgets.
