Job description

Drafting and Design: Creating detailed drawings, plans, and layouts using AutoCAD software based on specifications provided by civil engineers or project managers. This may include site plans, grading plans, road alignments, utility layouts, and construction details. Site Analysis: Reviewing survey data, site measurements, and engineering reports to understand site conditions and constraints and incorporate them into design drawings. Road and Highway Design: Designing roadways, highways, intersections, and transportation infrastructure, including alignments, profiles, cross-sections, and drainage systems, to meet safety, traffic flow, and regulatory requirements. Grading and Drainage Design: Designing grading plans, earthwork calculations, and drainage systems to manage stormwater runoff and ensure proper drainage on site. Utility Design: Designing utility layouts for water, sewer, and drainage systems, including pipe networks, manholes, and utility connections, and coordinating with utility companies and agencies for approvals. Structural Detailing: Creating detailed drawings and plans for structural elements such as retaining walls, bridges, culverts, and other civil structures, including reinforcement details and construction specifications. Quantity Takeoff: Calculating quantities of materials needed for construction based on design drawings and specifications to assist with cost estimation and project planning. Coordination with Engineers and Stakeholders: Collaborating with civil engineers, architects, surveyors, and other project stakeholders to ensure that design drawings meet project requirements, specifications, and regulatory standards. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Reviewing design drawings and plans to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintaining organized project files, documentation, and records of design revisions, approvals, and correspondence to support project documentation and future reference. Software Proficiency: Demonstrating proficiency in using AutoCAD software and other relevant computer-aided design (CAD) tools and software applications to create accurate and efficient design drawings. Continuous Learning and Professional Development: Staying updated on advancements in CAD technology, civil engineering principles, and industry best practices through training, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
