Job description

Drafting and Design: You use AutoCAD software to create detailed drawings, plans, and layouts for civil engineering projects, such as buildings, roads, bridges, and infrastructure. You translate conceptual designs and specifications into technical drawings that meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. Site Analysis: You conduct site surveys and analyze topographical data to assess site conditions and constraints. You use this information to inform your design decisions and ensure that proposed structures or developments are feasible and compliant with site-specific requirements. Technical Drawings: You produce a variety of technical drawings, including site plans, elevation drawings, cross-sections, and detail drawings. You ensure that drawings accurately represent design intent, dimensions, materials, and construction methods to facilitate project implementation. Collaboration: You collaborate closely with engineers, architects, surveyors, and other stakeholders involved in the project. You communicate effectively to understand project requirements, coordinate design efforts, and incorporate feedback into your drawings and designs. Design Modifications: You make revisions and modifications to drawings as needed throughout the design process. This may involve addressing feedback from project stakeholders, accommodating changes in project scope or requirements, and resolving design conflicts or discrepancies. Regulatory Compliance: You ensure that designs comply with relevant building codes, zoning regulations, environmental regulations, and other legal requirements. You stay updated on changes in regulations and standards to ensure that designs meet current compliance standards. Quality Control: You perform quality checks on drawings to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications. You identify and resolve any errors, inconsistencies, or discrepancies to maintain the integrity of the design documentation. Documentation: You maintain organized project files and documentation, including drawings, design calculations, and project records. You keep accurate records of design revisions, approvals, and correspondence to track project progress and facilitate project management. Problem-Solving: You apply problem-solving skills to address design challenges and technical issues that arise during the design process. You evaluate alternative solutions, conduct analysis, and make informed decisions to achieve optimal design outcomes.
