Job description

Drafting and Designing: Use AutoCAD software to create detailed drawings, plans, and layouts for civil engineering projects such as roads, bridges, buildings, and infrastructure systems. Translate conceptual designs and engineering specifications into technical drawings and diagrams. Site Planning: Assist civil engineers and architects in site planning and development by creating site plans, grading plans, and drainage plans. Incorporate topographic data, survey information, and engineering specifications into site design drawings. Structural Detailing: Produce detailed drawings and blueprints for structural components such as foundations, beams, columns, and retaining walls. Include dimensions, materials, and construction details to guide construction teams. Roadway Design: Design roadways, highways, and transportation infrastructure using AutoCAD software. Create alignment drawings, cross-sections, and profiles to illustrate road geometry, grades, and elevations. Utility Layouts: Design utility systems such as water supply, sewage, and drainage networks. Prepare utility layout plans, profiles, and schematics to illustrate pipe routes, connections, and equipment locations. Land Development: Generate plans and layouts for land development projects, including subdivisions, residential developments, and commercial sites. Design lot layouts, street configurations, and open space amenities. Grading and Earthwork: Develop grading plans and earthwork calculations for site preparation and land grading. Design contours, slopes, and cut/fill areas to optimize site drainage and stability. Quantity Estimation: Calculate quantities of materials and resources needed for construction based on drawings and specifications. Assist in cost estimation, project budgeting, and procurement planning. Collaboration: Coordinate with civil engineers, architects, surveyors, and other stakeholders to review project requirements, resolve design issues, and incorporate feedback into drawings. Standards Compliance: Ensure that drawings and designs comply with industry standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements. Stay updated on relevant codes and regulations related to civil engineering and construction. Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks and reviews of drawings to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications. Identify errors, discrepancies, or inconsistencies and make necessary revisions. Technical Skills: Possess strong technical skills in AutoCAD software, including proficiency in drafting tools, commands, and functions. Stay updated on new features and capabilities of AutoCAD software to improve efficiency and productivity. Problem-Solving Abilities: Analyze design challenges and develop innovative solutions to address technical issues or constraints. Collaborate with project teams to overcome design obstacles and achieve project goals. Communication Skills: Communicate effectively with project team members, clients, and stakeholders. Clearly convey design concepts, technical information, and project requirements through drawings, presentations, and discussions.
