Job description

Drafting and Design: Using AutoCAD software to create detailed drawings, plans, and layouts for civil engineering projects such as roads, bridges, buildings, and infrastructure. This includes creating 2D and 3D models, site plans, cross-sections, and elevation drawings. Site Analysis: Collaborating with civil engineers, architects, and project managers to understand project requirements, objectives, and specifications. Conducting site surveys and assessments to gather data and information needed for design and drafting. Technical Drawings: Generating technical drawings and construction documents that comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations. This may include drawings for site plans, grading plans, utility plans, drainage plans, and structural details. CAD Standards: Adhering to established CAD standards and best practices for drafting, annotation, layering, and file organization. Ensuring consistency and accuracy in drawings to facilitate communication and collaboration with project team members. Drafting Tools and Techniques: Utilizing a variety of drafting tools and techniques within AutoCAD, such as drawing commands, layers, blocks, annotations, and dimensioning. Employing efficiency-enhancing features and shortcuts to optimize productivity and workflow. Revision and Modification: Incorporating feedback, revisions, and changes into drawings as directed by project stakeholders. Updating drawings to reflect design modifications, engineering calculations, or client requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Quality Control: Reviewing drawings and plans for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications and standards. Conducting self-checks and peer reviews to identify and correct errors or discrepancies in drawings. Coordination and Collaboration: Collaborating with other members of the project team, including engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors, to coordinate design efforts and resolve design conflicts. Communicating effectively to ensure alignment and integration of design elements. Documentation and Record-keeping: Maintaining organized files and records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation. Ensuring that drawings are properly archived and accessible for reference and future use. Continuing Education: Staying updated on industry trends, software updates, and advancements in CAD technology and techniques. Participating in training programs, workshops, or professional development opportunities to enhance skills and expertise.
