Job description

Drafting and Design: Create 2D and 3D drawings, layouts, and schematics for civil engineering projects using AutoCAD software. Develop detailed plans, sections, elevations, and construction details based on project specifications, design criteria, and engineering standards. Site Development: Design site layouts, grading plans, and earthwork calculations for land development projects. Generate contours, profiles, and cross-sections to illustrate terrain features, drainage patterns, and site grading requirements. Road and Highway Design: Prepare road alignments, profiles, and cross-sections for transportation projects. Design roadway geometrics, intersections, and traffic control features using AutoCAD Civil 3D software. Incorporate design elements such as pavement markings, signage, and curb ramps. Utility Infrastructure: Design utility systems such as water supply, sewerage, and stormwater drainage networks. Create pipe profiles, alignments, and trench details for underground utilities. Coordinate utility layouts with other engineering disciplines to avoid conflicts and optimize space utilization. Structural Components: Develop structural drawings and details for civil engineering structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and foundations. Specify materials, dimensions, and reinforcement requirements for structural components using AutoCAD drafting tools. Construction Documentation: Produce construction drawings, plans, and specifications for bidding and permitting purposes. Generate quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and material schedules based on design drawings and project requirements. Collaboration and Coordination: Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders to integrate design elements and resolve design conflicts. Exchange drawing files, markups, and revisions using AutoCAD-compatible formats to facilitate collaboration and communication. CAD Standards and Best Practices: Adhere to industry standards, CAD conventions, and organizational guidelines for drafting and design. Maintain consistency in drawing formats, layers, linetypes, and annotation styles to ensure clarity and readability of drawings. Quality Control: Review and verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance of drawings with design requirements and specifications. Perform quality checks, redline corrections, and revisions as needed to address errors or discrepancies. Software Proficiency: Stay updated on the latest features and capabilities of AutoCAD software and related tools. Attend training sessions, webinars, and workshops to enhance skills in drafting, modeling, and visualization techniques. Project Management Support: Assist project managers and engineers in project coordination, documentation management, and deliverable preparation. Organize drawing files, maintain project archives, and assist in project tracking and reporting activities. Continuous Improvement: Seek opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and workflow automation in CAD drafting and design processes.
