Job description

Project Planning: Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to understand project requirements, objectives, and design specifications. Drafting: Use AutoCAD software to create accurate and detailed 2D and 3D drawings, plans, blueprints, and models for civil engineering projects such as buildings, roads, bridges, and infrastructure. Site Surveys: Conduct site surveys to gather data, measurements, and other relevant information needed for drafting and designing civil engineering projects. Layout Design: Create layout designs for various components of civil engineering projects, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and cross-sections, ensuring adherence to design standards and regulations. Structural Detailing: Generate detailed drawings and diagrams of structural components such as beams, columns, foundations, and retaining walls, incorporating dimensions, materials, and specifications. Road Design: Design roadways, highways, intersections, and transportation systems using AutoCAD Civil 3D software, including alignment, grading, and drainage plans. Utility Design: Design utility systems such as water supply, sewage, drainage, and electrical systems, incorporating piping, conduits, manholes, and utility trenches into project plans. Quantity Estimation: Calculate quantities of materials and resources needed for construction based on project drawings and specifications, assisting in cost estimation and project budgeting. Technical Documentation: Prepare technical documentation such as drawings, schedules, specifications, and reports for internal use and submission to clients, regulatory authorities, and contractors. Revision and Modification: Review and revise drawings and plans as needed based on feedback from engineers, architects, and clients, incorporating changes and updates into project designs. Code Compliance: Ensure that project designs and drawings comply with building codes, zoning regulations, safety standards, and environmental regulations applicable to the project location. Coordination: Coordinate with other members of the design team, including architects, structural engineers, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) engineers, and landscape architects, to integrate design elements and resolve conflicts. Quality Control: Perform quality checks on drawings and plans to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements, standards, and specifications. Software Proficiency: Stay updated with the latest features and functionalities of AutoCAD software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other relevant design and drafting tools used in the civil engineering industry. Continuing Education: Pursue professional development opportunities, training programs, and certifications to enhance skills and knowledge in civil engineering design, AutoCAD software, and related technologies.
