Job description

Drafting and Designing: Create precise and accurate drawings, blueprints, and schematics for civil engineering projects using AutoCAD software. Develop detailed plans, elevations, sections, and construction documents based on project specifications and requirements. Site Layout: Prepare site layout drawings and site plans for construction projects, including roads, highways, bridges, buildings, and infrastructure. Incorporate topographic data, survey information, and design parameters into site layout designs. Structural Detailing: Produce structural drawings and details for buildings, bridges, retaining walls, and other structures. Design structural components, such as beams, columns, foundations, and reinforcement details, to meet engineering standards and code requirements. Road Design: Develop road design drawings, alignments, profiles, and cross-sections for transportation projects. Design roadway geometrics, including horizontal and vertical alignments, intersections, curves, grades, and drainage elements. Utility Design: Create utility drawings for water, sewer, drainage, and electrical systems as part of civil engineering projects. Design utility layouts, pipe networks, manholes, culverts, and stormwater management facilities using AutoCAD tools. Land Development: Assist with land development projects by preparing subdivision plans, grading plans, and site development drawings. Coordinate with civil engineers, surveyors, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and coordinated design work. 3D Modeling: Use AutoCAD 3D modeling tools to create three-dimensional representations of civil engineering projects. Generate 3D renderings, visualizations, and walkthroughs to communicate design concepts and project proposals effectively. Quantity Takeoff: Perform quantity takeoff and material estimation based on AutoCAD drawings to support cost estimation, bidding, and project planning. Calculate quantities of earthwork, paving, concrete, steel, and other construction materials for project budgeting purposes. Drawing Review: Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with project engineers, architects, and consultants to resolve design conflicts and discrepancies. Documentation: Prepare design documentation, technical specifications, and construction drawings for submission to clients, regulatory agencies, and construction contractors. Organize drawing sets, maintain drawing archives, and update drawings as needed throughout the project lifecycle. Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, surveyors, and construction professionals, to coordinate design efforts and integrate design elements seamlessly. Participate in design meetings, workshops, and coordination sessions to address project requirements and challenges. Professional Development: Stay updated on AutoCAD software updates, new features, and best practices in drafting and design. Pursue professional development opportunities, such as AutoCAD certification, training courses, and workshops, to enhance technical skills and proficiency.
