Job description

Diagnostic Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough diagnostic tests using specialized equipment and tools to identify hardware issues at the component level. Troubleshoot and repair faults in electronic circuits, integrated circuits (ICs), and other electronic components. Component-Level Repair: Replace or repair faulty components such as resistors, capacitors, transistors, ICs, and other surface-mounted devices (SMDs) on circuit boards. Utilize soldering irons, reflow stations, and soldering techniques to desolder and solder components accurately. Equipment Maintenance and Calibration: Maintain and calibrate diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other test equipment to ensure accurate testing and measurement. Perform periodic maintenance and cleaning of tools and workstations to uphold efficiency and safety standards. Data Recovery and Backup: Retrieve data from damaged or malfunctioning storage devices (e.g., hard drives, SSDs, memory cards) using data recovery techniques and software. Safeguard customer data and ensure confidentiality during data recovery processes. Software and Firmware Updates: Update device firmware and software to resolve compatibility issues, improve functionality, and enhance device performance. Test and validate software updates to ensure they do not cause hardware malfunctions or performance degradation. Quality Assurance and Testing: Conduct quality checks and functional tests on repaired devices to verify proper operation and adherence to technical specifications. Document repair processes, test results, and components used for accurate record-keeping and warranty purposes. Customer Service and Support: Communicate with customers to understand device issues, provide repair estimates, and explain repair procedures and timelines. Offer technical advice, recommendations, and preventive maintenance tips to customers to optimize device performance and longevity. Skills and Qualifications: Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of electronics, circuitry, and digital systems to diagnose and repair hardware faults. Soldering Skills: Proficiency in surface mount technology (SMT) soldering techniques and rework processes for precise component-level repairs. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze circuit diagrams, schematics, and datasheets to understand device architecture and troubleshoot faults. Problem-Solving Abilities: Effective problem-solving skills to identify root causes of electronic failures and implement appropriate solutions. Attention to Detail: Precision and meticulousness in handling delicate electronic components and performing intricate repairs. Communication Skills: Clear communication with customers and colleagues to convey technical information, repair status updates, and recommendations.
