Cooking Techniques: Mastering Chinese cooking techniques such as stir-frying, steaming, braising, deep-frying, and roasting (e.g., Peking duck). Flavor Profiles: Understanding and balancing flavors typical of Chinese cuisine, including sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami. Using spices and seasonings like soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and Sichuan peppercorns. Quality Control: Ensuring the quality and consistency of dishes by using fresh ingredients, maintaining proper cooking techniques, and adhering to food safety standards. Recipe Development: Experimenting with new recipes or variations of traditional Chinese dishes while preserving authenticity and flavor profiles. Kitchen Management: Overseeing kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
