Balancing flavors, textures, and ingredients to create a diverse and appealing menu. Recipe Development: Developing and refining recipes for Chinese dishes, ensuring authenticity and consistency in flavor, presentation, and cooking techniques. Experimenting with different ingredients and flavor combinations to create innovative variations of classic dishes. Ingredient Selection and Procurement: Sourcing high-quality ingredients, spices, and produce for use in Chinese cooking. Ensuring that ingredients are fresh, authentic, and sourced from reputable suppliers whenever possible. Food Preparation and Cooking: Mastering a wide range of Chinese cooking techniques, including stir-frying, steaming, braising, deep-frying, and roasting. Preparing and cooking dishes such as stir-fried noodles, dumplings, soups, seafood, and meat dishes. Knife Skills: Developing excellent knife skills for chopping, slicing, dicing, and mincing ingredients with precision and speed. Mastery of knife techniques is essential for achieving consistent results and enhancing the presentation of dishes. Wok Cooking: Mastering the art of wok cooking, including proper seasoning and maintenance of the wok, controlling heat levels, and achieving the characteristic smoky flavor (wok hei) in stir-fried dishes.
