Chemistry Teacher Job in Kollam

Kollam, Kerala Full Time Date: 30 April 2024

Job description

Curriculum Development: Develop and organize instructional materials and lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and learning objectives for chemistry courses. Instruction Delivery: Deliver engaging and informative lessons using a variety of teaching methods such as lectures, demonstrations, laboratory experiments, discussions, and multimedia resources. Chemical Concepts and Principles: Teach students about fundamental concepts and principles of chemistry, including atomic structure, chemical bonding, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, kinetics, and equilibrium. Laboratory Instruction: Conduct laboratory experiments and investigations to provide students with hands-on experience in scientific inquiry, experimentation, and data analysis. Supervise students and ensure safety protocols are followed during lab activities. Chemical Nomenclature and Formulas: Educate students about chemical nomenclature and formulas, including naming compounds, writing chemical formulas, and balancing chemical equations. Chemical Reactions: Cover topics related to chemical reactions, including types of reactions (such as synthesis, decomposition, single replacement, and double replacement), reaction mechanisms, and reaction kinetics. Stoichiometry: Teach students how to perform stoichiometric calculations to determine the quantities of reactants and products in chemical reactions. Help them understand the relationships between moles, mass, volume, and concentration. Atomic Structure and Periodicity: Discuss the structure of atoms, including the arrangement of electrons in atomic orbitals and the periodic trends in the periodic table (such as atomic radius, ionization energy, and electron affinity). Chemical Bonding: Explain the different types of chemical bonds (ionic, covalent, and metallic) and their properties. Help students understand how chemical bonds are formed, broken, and influenced by factors such as electronegativity and molecular geometry. Acids and Bases: Cover topics related to acids and bases, including definitions, properties, pH scale, acid-base titrations, and buffer solutions. Chemical Kinetics and Thermodynamics: Teach students about chemical kinetics (the study of reaction rates) and thermodynamics (the study of energy changes in chemical reactions). Discuss topics such as reaction mechanisms, activation energy, enthalpy, entropy, and free energy. Environmental Chemistry: Discuss the role of chemistry in environmental issues such as air pollution, water pollution, climate change, and sustainability. Help students understand the impact of human activities on the environment and explore potential solutions.
