Job description

Installing CCTV cameras, monitors, recording equipment, and related hardware according to specifications and requirements. Mounting cameras at strategic locations to maximize coverage and effectiveness of surveillance. Running and concealing cables, such as coaxial cables or Ethernet cables, to connect cameras to recording devices or network infrastructure. Configuration and Setup: Configuring CCTV cameras and recording equipment to capture and store video footage effectively. Setting up DVRs (Digital Video Recorders), NVRs (Network Video Recorders), or VMS (Video Management Systems) software to manage and archive video recordings. Configuring camera settings, such as resolution, frame rate, motion detection, and night vision, to optimize performance and meet surveillance requirements. Testing and Troubleshooting: Conducting system tests and diagnostics to ensure proper functioning of CCTV equipment and components. Troubleshooting issues with camera placement, connectivity, or image quality, and implementing solutions to resolve technical problems. Testing video feeds, recording playback, and remote viewing capabilities to verify system integrity and performance. Maintenance and Upkeep: Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning camera lenses, adjusting camera angles, and replacing worn-out components (e.g., cables, connectors, power supplies). Inspecting CCTV systems for signs of damage, tampering, or malfunction, and taking proactive measures to address potential security vulnerabilities. Updating firmware or software patches to enhance system security and functionality, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Documentation and Reporting: Documenting installation procedures, equipment configurations, and maintenance activities in service reports or job logs. Providing detailed documentation to clients or stakeholders on CCTV system specifications, operating instructions, and warranty information. Generating incident reports or security incident logs based on video footage to assist with investigations or law enforcement inquiries. Training and Support: Providing training and technical support to end-users, security personnel, or maintenance staff on how to operate and maintain CCTV systems effectively. Offering guidance on best practices for camera placement, surveillance coverage, and security protocols to maximize the effectiveness of CCTV installations.
