Job description

System Design and Installation: Design CCTV systems based on client requirements, site layout, and security objectives. Install cameras, cables, connectors, power supplies, and other components according to industry standards and manufacturer specifications. Camera Placement and Configuration: Determine optimal camera placement for maximum coverage and effectiveness. Configure camera settings, such as resolution, frame rate, and field of view, to meet specific surveillance needs and environmental conditions. Cabling and Wiring: Run cables and wires to connect CCTV cameras to recording devices, monitors, and power sources. Ensure proper cable management and concealment to maintain a neat and professional installation. Power Supply Installation: Install and connect power supplies, voltage regulators, and backup batteries to provide reliable power to CCTV cameras and related equipment. Verify voltage levels and electrical connections to prevent power-related issues. Network Integration: Integrate CCTV systems with existing network infrastructure, if applicable. Configure IP cameras, switches, routers, and network video recorders (NVRs) to enable remote monitoring, video streaming, and data storage over the network. Testing and Commissioning: Test CCTV cameras, lenses, infrared illuminators, and other components to ensure proper functioning and alignment. Adjust camera angles, focus, and exposure settings as needed for optimal performance. Video Recording Setup: Configure recording settings, storage options, and retention policies on NVRs or digital video recorders (DVRs). Set up motion detection, scheduled recording, and event-triggered recording to capture relevant video footage efficiently. Remote Monitoring Setup: Configure remote viewing and access capabilities to allow authorized users to monitor CCTV cameras from remote locations. Set up mobile apps, web interfaces, or client software for real-time surveillance and playback of recorded footage. Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning camera lenses, checking connections, and updating firmware/software. Troubleshoot issues related to camera malfunctions, video loss, connectivity problems, or recording errors. Repair and Replacement: Diagnose hardware and software issues affecting CCTV systems and components. Repair or replace faulty cameras, cables, connectors, power supplies, or other hardware as needed to restore functionality. System Upgrades and Expansion: Upgrade CCTV systems with new cameras, improved technology, or additional features to enhance security capabilities. Expand surveillance coverage to new areas or facilities by adding cameras and integrating them into the existing system. Compliance and Regulation: Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements governing CCTV surveillance, such as privacy laws, data protection regulations, and industry standards. Obtain necessary permits or approvals for CCTV installations in public or private spaces. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of CCTV installations, configurations, maintenance activities, and service requests. Document equipment specifications, wiring diagrams, and test results for future reference and compliance purposes. Customer Support and Training: Provide technical support to customers, security personnel, or end-users regarding CCTV system operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Train users on how to use CCTV software, view footage, and perform basic system tasks. Safety and Security: Follow safety protocols and best practices to ensure the safety and security of personnel, property, and data during CCTV installation and maintenance activities. Adhere to safety standards for working at heights, handling electrical equipment, and using power tools.
