Job description

System Installation: Install CCTV cameras, monitors, recording equipment, and associated hardware according to design specifications, wiring diagrams, and customer requirements. Cabling and Wiring: Run cables and wiring for CCTV systems, including coaxial cables, Ethernet cables, power cables, and connectors, ensuring proper routing and termination. Camera Positioning and Alignment: Mount and position CCTV cameras in strategic locations to maximize coverage and visibility while minimizing blind spots and obstructions. Camera Configuration: Configure camera settings, such as resolution, frame rate, focus, zoom, and field of view, to optimize image quality and surveillance coverage. Network Configuration: Set up and configure network connections for IP-based CCTV systems, including IP addressing, subnetting, port forwarding, and network protocols. System Integration: Integrate CCTV systems with other security systems, such as access control systems, alarm systems, and video management software (VMS), to create comprehensive security solutions. Testing and Commissioning: Conduct system tests and commissioning procedures to verify proper installation, functionality, and performance of CCTV systems, including camera calibration, motion detection testing, and recording playback. Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identify and troubleshoot issues with CCTV systems, including camera malfunctions, video loss, connectivity problems, and recording errors. Diagnose hardware and software problems and implement solutions to resolve issues promptly. Maintenance and Upkeep: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning camera lenses, checking cable connections, and updating firmware/software, to ensure the reliability and longevity of CCTV systems. System Upgrades and Expansion: Upgrade CCTV systems with new hardware or software components to enhance performance, features, or compatibility. Expand existing systems to accommodate additional cameras or coverage areas as needed. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate documentation of CCTV installations, configurations, maintenance activities, and service records. Keep detailed records of system configurations, wiring diagrams, and customer communications. Customer Support: Provide technical support and assistance to customers, end-users, and other stakeholders regarding CCTV system operation, troubleshooting, and usage best practices. Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing the installation and operation of CCTV systems, including privacy laws and data protection regulations. Safety Practices: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents, injuries, and property damage during CCTV installation, maintenance, and testing activities. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices at all times. Continuous Learning and Skill Development: Stay updated on advancements in CCTV technology, equipment, and techniques through training programs, certifications, and professional development opportunities to maintain expertise and proficiency in the role of CCTV Technician.
