Job description

Customer Service: Provide friendly and courteous service to customers at the point of sale. Greet customers, answer inquiries, and assist with product selection or recommendations as needed. Payment Processing: Receive payments by cash, credit card, debit card, or other forms of electronic payment. Ensure accuracy in processing transactions and issue receipts or change to customers. Cash Handling: Count and verify cash in the cash register at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure accuracy. Handle cash transactions with integrity and in accordance with company policies and procedures. Order Processing: Process sales transactions, including scanning items, entering prices, and applying discounts or promotions. Ensure all items are properly scanned and recorded in the system. Returns and Exchanges: Process returns, refunds, and exchanges following established guidelines and policies. Verify merchandise returned by customers and ensure proper documentation and handling of returned items. Sales Reporting: Maintain sales records and prepare daily, weekly, or monthly reports on sales transactions, revenue, and inventory levels. Provide reports to management as required. Customer Assistance: Assist customers with locating merchandise, answering product-related questions, and providing information on store policies, promotions, or special offers. Security and Compliance: Follow security procedures to prevent theft and maintain a safe working environment. Adhere to cash handling procedures and policies to minimize errors and discrepancies. Inventory Management: Monitor and report inventory levels of products at the checkout counter. Notify management of low stock levels or discrepancies in inventory counts. Cleanliness and Organization: Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies such as bags, receipt paper, and promotional materials. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other store staff, including sales associates, supervisors, and managers, to ensure efficient store operations and customer satisfaction. Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Uphold customer service standards and represent the store positively to customers.
