Job description

Customer Service: Provide friendly, efficient, and courteous service to customers during their transactions. Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve any concerns or issues they may have. Cash Handling: Receive payments from customers in the form of cash, credit cards, debit cards, or other electronic payment methods. Count cash accurately, process transactions promptly, and provide correct change. Point of Sale (POS) Operations: Operate electronic cash registers or POS systems to scan items, process transactions, and generate receipts. Ensure accuracy in pricing and enter discounts or promotions as needed. Transaction Recording: Record sales transactions, including item details, quantities, prices, and payment methods, in the POS system or manual registers. Maintain accurate records of daily sales and reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift. Product Knowledge: Have a good understanding of the products or services offered by the organization. Provide information to customers about product features, prices, and availability as required. Upselling and Cross-selling: Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional products or services to customers. Recommend complementary items or promotions to enhance the customer's shopping experience. Security and Compliance: Adhere to security procedures and protocols to prevent theft, fraud, or unauthorized access to cash or sensitive information. Follow compliance regulations regarding cash handling, data privacy, and consumer protection. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of high-demand items and communicate with relevant departments to ensure product availability. Notify management of low stock or out-of-stock items to prevent disruptions in service. Shift Balancing: Balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure accuracy and accountability. Count cash, checks, and other forms of payment against transaction records and report any discrepancies to management. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other cashiers, sales associates, and store staff to maintain a smooth and efficient operation. Communicate effectively with team members to address customer needs and resolve issues promptly.
