Providing Customer Service: Greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with inquiries or concerns. Cashiers provide information about products, promotions, and store policies, and offer assistance with locating items or processing returns. Handling Cash: Counting and handling cash transactions securely and accurately. Cashiers handle cash payments, make change, and reconcile cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure accuracy and accountability. Processing Returns and Exchanges: Assisting customers with returns, exchanges, or refunds according to store policies and procedures. Cashiers verify receipts, inspect returned items, and process refunds or store credits as appropriate. Balancing Registers: Balancing cash registers and reconciling sales transactions to ensure that cash, credit card, and other payments match sales receipts and recorded totals. Cashiers prepare deposit slips and cash reports for accounting and auditing purposes. Maintaining Cleanliness: Keeping the cashier area clean, organized, and free of clutter. Cashiers tidy up the checkout lane, remove empty carts or baskets, and ensure that signage and displays are neat and presentable. Assisting with Bagging: Bagging customers' purchases and handling items with care to prevent damage.
