Job description

Customer Service: Provide friendly, efficient, and courteous service to customers at the point of sale. Greet customers, answer questions, and assist with inquiries or concerns. Cash Handling: Process transactions accurately using cash registers or point-of-sale (POS) systems. Accept cash, credit card, debit card, and mobile payments from customers. Payment Processing: Calculate totals, apply discounts or promotions, and issue receipts or change to customers. Ensure accuracy in counting cash and processing payments. Sales Transactions: Scan or input items, verify prices, and ensure all purchased products are properly accounted for. Maintain knowledge of products, prices, and promotions. Accounting and Reconciliation: Balance cash registers at the end of shifts and reconcile discrepancies. Count and verify cash drawer contents against receipts and transactions. Customer Relations: Handle customer complaints or issues professionally and escalate complex matters to supervisors or management as needed. Inventory Control: Monitor and report inventory levels of products or merchandise at the checkout area. Notify supervisors of low stock items or discrepancies. Security and Compliance: Follow security procedures and protocols to prevent theft and ensure the safety of cash, merchandise, and customers. Adhere to company policies and regulations. Cleaning and Maintenance: Keep checkout areas clean, organized, and well-maintained. Ensure equipment such as cash registers and scanners are in good working condition. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other cashiers, sales associates, and store staff to provide a positive customer experience and achieve store goals.
